I am excited to have you join us. Meditation 101 is designed to support the 92% in the resistance movement of radical self care. The purpose of this class is to provide tools and techniques for stress reduction, concentration, relaxation, emotional regulation, and overall holistic health.

Topics covered include:

  • how to meditate (posture, body positions, breathing, etc.)

  • how to recognize stressors in the body

  • how to properly breathe, various breathing techniques

  • sound therapy

  • energy points and chakras for beginners

About The Instructor

Hello! It’s pleasure to connect with you. My name is LaToya Thurman. I am an educator, spiritual activist, and author of The Complete Guide To Crystal Medicine. I have served my community as a registered holistic health practitioner, registered metaphysician, and certified reiki master in the New Usui method since 2016. In addition, I am a practitioner of Theravada Buddhism of twenty years, taking my Jukai ceremony (initiation into the Five Buddhist Precepts) in 2013 at Deer Park Monastery under the name “Joyful Dedicate of the Heart”. I am looking forward to having you in class.

Class Details

Class meets every Monday from 2-3pm EST via TikTok live. There are no prerequisites or prior experience needed. All you will need is a quiet place to sit and a comfortable cushion to sit on. A journal is also recommended to record any insights, breakthroughs, thoughts, or emotions that may come up during meditation sessions. You can join the class via the link below or the TikTok app.
