Making This Ours
This lesson is about making this practice yours. Spiritism is a living, breathing, lifelong practice that compliments any religious or spiritual path. The purpose of Spiritism is always evolution and integration. As you continue on this journey you will ultimately build a practice that is unique and relevant to your lifestyle, destiny, and spiritual court. Some ways to make this practice yours include:
Daily devotionals and rituals: prayers and meditations at the altar. Having a cup of coffee or tea with your spirits. Reciting a specific prayer or singing a song before starting your day. Journaling, etc.
Lifestyle: establishing elements of your spirits around your home or place of business.
Rootwork: incorporating spells, healing work, and magical recipes learned from your spirit guides. Cultivating a magical practice around your spiritual court.
Family traditions: reintroducing ancient ancestral traditions into your family line.
Birth and death rites: using elements of spiritism in birth and death rites such as performing elevations for newly passed family members or having an ancestor altar present during birth.
Celebrations: celebrating holidays, birthdays, major milestones, feast days, and days of cultural impotence to you and your spiritual court
ATR/DTR practice: regular devotional practice with the spirits of Orisha, Vodun, Candomble, etc as they make themselves known in your spiritual court.
