 Embodying Spirit: Spirit Possession

Let’s talk about possession! I specifically dedicated a segment to this topic because there are many fears, myths, and misconceptions about spirit possession. Not only is spirit possession a common occurrence in any spiritual practice, it’s an important component. Think of it this way, the ultimate goal of any practice where you are engaging spirit is to develop a strong direct relationship with that spirit. And there is no stronger relationship than the ability to be a vessel for spirit to manifest. Can it be a scary experience? Of course! Losing control of your body would be a cause for concern for anyone. Not many people would be comfortable with the idea of their body being taken over by an otherworldly entity and, granted, the experience of being mounted by spirit can be exhausting. However, seeing spirit manifest in the physical and conduct healing work, deliver profound messages, and perform  extraordinary feats is a beautiful thing to witness.

In this week’s lesson we’re going to discuss what spirit possession is and isn’t, it’s purpose, how to bring it on or stop it, and what to do if you or someone you know is possessed by spirit.
